Classic TV Clips Channel SubscribeBy classic_tv_clips

This is probably one of my favorite Foreign Film Dub.

Listen and watch carefully as the guys try to speak the hardest language in the world, Canadian.

That audience member was on point. with he movie’s name,”oot an a boot”

#LOL… “DO YOU GIGGLE WHEN YOU SAY REGINA!!?”

The other funny line…

“We don’t even have a football team, but I bet we could beat Cleveland.”

Wishbone – Intro

Classic TV Clips Channel By classic_tv_clips

If you grew up watching Wishbone……I bet your childhood was great

The kid shows of the 90’s had the most memorable theme songs.

How could You forget the theme song with Wishbone walking on a globe. haha lolz.

I can buy you dressing him up in little outfits but THAT DOG IS SHOOTING AN ARROW.

And you can’t dress a dog up like a Medieval soldier.

You just can’t.

Who’s the cutest widdle literary introduction to small children? You are! Yes, you are!

Kids really don’t read enough…

How do you get kids to read?

DOGS!

No really, this show was ingenious, they need to do a reboot and start getting kids into the classics at an early age again.

BUT, BUT, BUT… After watching a few of these, I never had to read those books because I could fake it and pretend that I had read them.

His name was Soccer and he died in 2001.

Witch City Documentary

Classic TV Clips Channel By classic_tv_clips

An edited excerpt from the 1998 documentary “Witch City” featuring Laurie Cabot – the “Official Witch of Salem.” Historian Stephen Nisenbaum and Rev. Russ Ely dispute links between the practice of witchcraft today and the victims of the Salem Witchcraft Trials of 1692.

He has a point, though. What happened in Salem – indeed, what happened in every witchcraft incident during pre-modern times – has no meaningful connection, on any level, to Wicca. Wicca is a thoroughly modern invention, and a pagan like Laurie Cabot trying to claim victim status over the Salem trials makes no sense.

LOL… The witchcraft she has adopted is only 20 years older than Kwanza.

But, I wonder what doctrine of her religion demands that she dress like a batshit crazy old cat lady

I believe it’s the “look at me! Somebody! LOOK AT MEEEeeeee!” doctrine.

But, But, But…. look at the wacky robes and hats in the Vatican, the squiggly sideburns and bowler hats of the Hasidic, and the beards and turbans of the Sikhs.

Modern “pagan” types are pretty insufferable. They moan about Abrahamic religions and all the awful things they’ve done to the world, then replace it with an equally ludicrous religion that forces itself into everyone’s faces in a way that comes off so forced and embarrassing.

And also, just like mainstream monotheists, they usually haven’t a clue about the history of the doctrines, deities, and symbols that they are liberally borrowing from all throughout history and culture.

What’s especially funny is that they’ve borrowed so many of the trappings of so-called “witchcraft” right out of the lore of Christianity.

It would be like a black person saying they’re deeply into “black culture” by dressing up and acting like racist caricatures from the films and advertising of the 1920s and 30s.Show less

WMAC Masters – Ninja Challenge

Classic TV Clips Channel By classic_tv_clips

BACK IN THE DAY THIS WAS UFC: My sons used to wake up and watch this show and lose my mind… LOL… But it was a failed live action video game/martial arts joke from UPN and the 1990s.

It was half American Gladiators, half Mortal Kombat and the woman who hosted this is Bruce Lee’s daughter.

The council has announced a brand new match and six masters have been chosen to participate. Tsunami is determined to win this match but Superstar thinks he’ll choke and makes a bet with him to prove it.

It failed like a fox, because Kids enjoyed this masterful piece of shlock.

In a parallel universe UFC evolved from this.

Wonder Showzen – H.O.B.O. OPS

Classic TV Clips Channel By classic_tv_clips

Old soldiers turned tramps relive moments of action for insane motives in a GI Joe parody.

This was funny because it was fake.. then it became sad, because it is true.

Damn that ending with the boy and his mom hit harder than a punch from Heavyweight Boxer.

Wonder showzen is normally pretty boring, but this has its moments

Some of the Wonder Showzen stuff on MTV was so ahead of it’s time.

It’s a shame it’s no longer around to deliver an occasional gem.

Why Do People In Old Movies Talk Weird

Classic TV Clips Channel SubscribeBy classic_tv_clips

It’s not quite British, and it’s not quite American – so what gives? Why do all those actors of yesteryear have such a distinct and strange accent?

All you ever wanted to know about the usage of the acquired Mid-Atlantic accent

And you just thought everyone talked like that back then.

LOL… People in old movies don’t talk weird, people NOW talk weird see?!

Another reason why they sounded strange is because, back then, movie actors were also stage actors.

You have to project your voice, and exaggerate pronunciation to even be understood.

You’re not going to find a lot of people in New England who talk like the Kennedy’s did.

They had the trans-atlantic accent discussed in the video for the same reason: they learned it in prep school.

Strictly old-timey upper crust.

Another accent that seems to be fading from movies and the airwaves is the New York City accent.

Strong accents from different NYC boroughs were on lots of TV shows, like All In The Family for example, and even the Dog show Rosie that was posted here, he sounded like a New York mutt.

Maybe it’s just different because lots of production has moved to LA?

Now so many shows seem to have a dry, non-dramatic speech, which is funny, when a ‘drama’ has people talking in virtual monotone.

Also, if you notice they also spoke very fast because film was expensive. Get those lines out quick and don’t make mistakes or you hurt the budgetShow less

William F. Buckley vs. Gore Vidal: Now listen, you queer, stop calling me a crypto-Nazi

Classic TV Clips Channel By classic_tv_clips

This is the well know incident between William Buckley and Gore Vidal that occurred during ABC’s coverage of the 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago.

So much class and eloquence as he adds…. or I’ll sock you in you goddamn face and you’ll stay plastered.

OMG!!! That face, he really loses it, jaw going side to side, the lot…

I love Vidal’s glee at Buckley’s incredibly lame threat. A big cheerful grin that morphs into the satisfied smirk of a man who’s taking a moment to size up his opponent and is realizing just how badly he’d messed this guy up.

Man, Fox News isn’t doing anything new at all, is it?

The interruptions, the ad hominem attacks in place of actual debate, the macho posturing… the only real difference is that at least Buckley had some level of military service to exaggerate about.

These are the kind of intelligent conversations we need today.
